Evans was born May 6, 1928 to Carl and Mathilda (Weintz) Goehring. He was united in marriage to Inez Ackerman on June 26, 1949 in Evangelical Lutheran Brethren Church at Artas, SD. Evans served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on May 21, 1952. They made their home in Wishek, Bismarck and near Ashley on his family homestead. They were general farmers from 1951-1962. From 1963-1967, they owned and operated Evans Drive-Inn. From 1977-1987, they owned the Coast to Coast Store in Wishek. In 1987, they built a new home in Ashley for their retirement. Inez died December 4, 2011. Evans enjoyed carpentry and fishing.
Grateful for having shared Evans life are his daughter, Miranda (Tyler) Lang of Bloomer, WI; two grandsons, Tyson (Susan) Lang and Tanner (Jayne) Lang and five great-grandchildren, Olivia, Braxton, Avery, Hudson and Tenley Lang.
Preceding Evans in death were his parents, wife, two sisters and two brothers.
