Oldest son of Robert Tucker I, who succeeded John Hutchings as mayor of Norfolk in 1738 and was again mayor in 1749 and 1759.œRobert Tucker, merchant, was appointed an alderman in the charter of the Borough of Norfolk, dated September 25, 1736. He at one time had 21 living children; but now no male descendant bears his respected name. The names of Robert Tucker and of Robert Tucker Jr appear among the œSons of Liberty, as signers to the resolutions adopted in opposition to the Stamp Act, March 31, 1766. He was a Burgess from Norfolk in 1756, and his son, Robert Tucker, Jr., in 1767-9. He and most of his numerous family were interred in the lot connected with the Exchange Bank.,, ,
