Alfreda J. Schueler, 85, of Paddock Lake, Salem, Wis., died Dec. 3 at the Hospice House, Pleasant Prairie, Wis.
She was born May 3, 1920 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Antoni and Ludwika (Grzyzowska) Jackowski.
She had moved to Venitian Village, Lake Villa in 1950 and then to Wisconsin in 1973. She was a member of St. Scholastic Church of Bristol, Wis. Mrs. Schueler was a school teacher of the primary grades in Chicago and Lake Villa. After her retirement she took up ballroom dancing, entering many contests until she was in her 80's.
She married John A. Schueler, a former Captain of Lake Villa Rescue Squad, on Aug. 15, 1947 in Chicago and he preceded her in death on April 9, 1976. She and her husband raised and bred Airdale dogs for many years.
Survivors include her sister, Lottie L. (the late John) Kaminski of Chicago; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edmund (the late Estelle) Jackowski; and William (Virginia) Jackowski.
Funeral Mass with Christian burial was held Dec. 7 at St. Scholastica Church, Bristol, Wis. Interment was in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
Donations may be made to the Hospice House, Pleasant Prairie, Wis., in her memory. Funeral arrangements were made by Strang Funeral Home of Antioch.
