William H. "Bill" Padgett was a long-time resident of Valley County, Montana, especially the towns of Fort Peck and Glasgow. Mr. Padgett lived to the age of 104. His funeral card says he was born in Carrolton County, Missouri. There is no such county. The 1910 census shows William was born in Missouri. The 1920 -1940 shows he was born in Kansas. His 1926 marriage license shows he was born in Argentine, Wyandotte, Kansas.
Bill was a veteran of World War One.
Married to Christine C. "Tena" Fuhrman of Baylor, Valley County, Montana, on 04 December 1926. Bill worked for many years for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the Fort Peck Dam Project. He was a plumber for the Corps.
William had several siblings born in South Carrolton, Carroll county, Missouri. His father's name was Samuel A. Padgett. Bill and Tena had a daughter named Shirley.
Services were held Monday, March 10, 1997, at 2 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Glasgow, with Pastor Joyce Kaplan officiating. Interment was in Highland Cemetery in Glasgow.
