(KS) The Belleville Telescope Dec. 7, 1933
Mrs. Mary L. Bowersox passed away Wednesday morning, November 22 after a three weeks illness with heart trouble. Her death came as a shock to her many friends for though they knew she was very ill, no one realized the critical condition. Always cheerful and ready to help those about her, she had endeared herself to all who knew her.
Mrs. Bowersox was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Willis Howes of Munden, Kan. She was born October 15, 1881, in Munden, Kan., where she grew to womanhood. On April 2, 1907, she was married to Orville L. Bowersox of Belleville, the marriage taking place in Munden. After their marriage they moved to Longmont, Colo., living there until 1914 when they moved to Littleton, Colo., where the family still resides. To this union were born five children, Velma, Glydeth, LeRoy, Lois and Willis. Her parents preceded her in death many years.
Besides her husband and five children, she leaves to mourn her loss, a sister, Mrs. U. S. G. Bowersox of Longmont, Colo.; and a brother, Henry H. Howes of Los Angeles, Cal., also other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Bowersox was a member of the Littleton Methodist church, the Dorcus Society, and Manzaneta Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. For years Mrs. Bowersox has run a hemstitching shop at her home.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Nichcls chapel with the Rev. F. G. Krueger of Denver, a former pastor of the M. E. Church at Littleton officiating. Services at the Littleton cemetery conducted by the Manzaneta Chapter.
