Tom was born August 11, 1936, to Theodore W. and Elsie (Hofmann) Griess at the family farm near Sutton, NE. Tom married Dorothey L. Theesen in Hastings, NE, on October 6th, 1961, and they had three children, Michael, Tina and Philip. Tom and his family lived in Nebraska, South Dakota, Alabama and Iowa during his career working for Cargill, Inc., with Tom and Dorothey spending time in Nebraska and Arizona in their retirement. Tom loved music and enjoyed traveling with Dorothey. Tom is survived by: wife, Dorothy Griess of 50 years, children Michael, Tina and Philip, and their spouses, Amy, MJ and Jackie, grandchildren: Thomas, Christina, Tyler, Drew, Evan and Elly, sister Doris and her husband Hilmer Huber, his step-mother Luella Griess, step-brother Gary and his wife Angela Griess, step-sister Leona and her husband Lester Bangert and a host of relatives and friends. Don was preceded in death by: parents and brothers, Ben and Ewald Griess. Interment was in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Glenvil, NE.
