  www.findagrave.com: www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=73040289 Rolland graduated from Sutton High School in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He and Lorene farmed near Sutton. In 1980 they moved into Sutton. They retired in the mid-1980s. He was a chauffeur for the Sutton Community Home at the time of his death. Rolland was a member of the Saronville Methodist Church, later transferring his membership to the Federated Church, American Legion Post No. 61 of Sutton of which he was past commander, 40&8 Voiture No. 675. He served on the Clay County Mutual Insurance Board of which he was past president, as a Clay County supervisor and a Sutton city councilman. (Source: Obituary, Hastings Tribune, Hastings, Nebraska) Rolland had a massive stroke while driving the Sutton Community Home van near Clay Center. The attendant was able to help him pull the van off the road. She then called an ambulance to take him to Hastings. He passed away in the early evening after they chose to take him off of the respirator. His three girls were able to get to the hospital before he died.
