Ralph Sam Kahler was born in Gregory, South Dakota to Gusrave and Adalina (Hochhalter) Kahler. In 1949, Mr. Kahler joined the U.S. Army and served in Alaska until he was honorably discharged in 1953. On February 14, 1954, he married Loretta Walter in Winter, SD. He worked for BF Goodrich in Minneapolis, MN until moving to Denver, CO. where he managed several downtown parking lots. He later purchased the Bridhton Lanes bowling alley in Brighton, CO which he owned and operated until his retirement in 1991 when he moved to Greeley.
Mr. Kahler enjoyed fishing, and traveling in the notor home and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Greeley. He was a wonderful husband, father, and friend. He will be greatly missed.
Mr. Kahler died Wednesday December 20, 2006 at North Colorado Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta Kahler of Greeley; Daughters, Debbie Ancell of Thornton, CO and Roxinne Nixon and husband Chuck of Thornton, CO; sons, Lonnie Kahler of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Randy Kahler and wife Cherish of Greeley and Terry Kahler and wife Teresa of Greeley. He also survived by eight grandchildren; five great Grandchildren; brothers, Art Kahler and wife Alma of gregory, SD, Al Kahler and wife Dorothy of North Glenn, CO, Herman Kahler and wife Donna of Denver, CO, and Robert Kahler and wife Carol of Omaha, NE; sisters, Lila Crooks of Greeley, Esther Harter and Husband Joe of greeley, Doris Steinke and husband Harry of Fort Collins, CO, and Velma Zimmerman and husband Bob of Stillwater, OK.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Kahler; son-in-law, Wally Ancell, and mother-in-law and brother-in-law.
Internement will be in Linn Grove Cemetery, Greeley, Colorado memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Care of Adamson Memorial Chapel, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, Colorado 80634.
