Ethel Elizabeth Hoskins, daughter of Jim and Sophia Schultz Hoskins, was born May 27, 1905 at Guide Rock. She died Sunday, Oct 11, 1981, at the Good Samaritan Center, Nelson, at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 14 days.
A longtime resident of the Guide Rock community, she attended the Guide Rock schools and graduated from high school with the class of 1923.
She lived for many years with her granddaughter, Mrs Mary Sugars, Chester, moving to the Good Samaritan Center at Nelson three years ago. She was also a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her son, Jack Hoskins, Republic; two brothers Earl Hoskins and Loren Hoskins, Hastings; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct 14, 1981, from the Simonson-Williams Funeral Home Chapel, Red Cloud, with the Rev Daniel Moorhead officiating. Interment was in the Guide Rock Cemetery.
