Friedrich married Margaretha SCHEMPP on the 30th of November 1865 in Johannestal, Beresan, Odessa, South Russia. This union was blessed with no less than 9 children. Friedrich at the age of 43 with his wife Margaretha and their children; Magdalena, Gottlieb, Elisabetha, Jacob, Katharina and Johannes, immigrated to America via the Port of Bremen, Germany aboard the SS "Fulda" and arrived at the Port of New York, New York on the 13th of April 1885. It was a 2 week journey. Nine of their 14 children died in Russia and the other five came to America. Michael and his family came first to Scotland, SD to their relatives (Matthew and Maria Sayler) - Matthew being a brother to Michael and Maria being a sister to Carolina. From there they went to North Dakota where they homesteaded in McLean County, 7 miles NW of Garrison, ND. Carolina Sayler died in 1905 from a broken rib which had punctured her lung. Mr. Sayler remarried, person unknown. Michael and his wife Rosa are found in the 1910 McLean County, ND Census with one child, Charles age 21 born Russia. Michael's birth record is found in the St. Petersburg, Russia records for the Rohrbach Parish on LDS Microfilm # 1883193/2, pg 244 Reg 33. Griess, Jacob Zimbelman, John Zimbelman and Phillip Zimbelman, all of Lodi. He was the brother of Mike Zimbelman, North Dakota and Katherina Zimbelman, St. Francis, Kansas. I was baptised there and in 1891 I was confirmed in Worms South Russia by Pastor Daniel Steinerand and on ? October I married Wilhelmina Stolz and emmigrated to America on 1 December 1900. We arrived in Scotland on 30 December 1900. We stayed there, working and farming, until 1909, and them moved to Glen Ulin, North Dakota. We took over a farm south of Glen Ulin and farmed ther until 1919. Then we moved to Missoula Montana, where we busied ourselves with ?? work until 1921. Then we moved to Twin Falls, Idaho where we again were busy with ?? work until 1934. Then we came to California, namely to Victor Cal. and in 1937 move to Lodi, Cal. NOTE: The 1910 North Dakota Census records indicate that Jakob immigrated to the United States in 1899. Baptized - November 23, 1875 (Jakob Hochhalter Family Bible - photo copy) Entry at bottom of Bible page after listing of his children. Father of these children Jakob Hochhalter born October 24, 1875 in Rohrbach, South Russia. The mother of these children Wilhelmina which was born with the name of Stolz born November 14, 1882. Married October 1, 1900 in the Church of Neufruedenthal Germany. Pastor Julius Betsch. Adam and Magdalena Stolz born Schafer . The mother(Wilhelmina) of those children died March 5 at 9:00 in the evening 1938. It was determined that Jacob Hochhalter (b 10/24/1875) was remarried in 1938 after Wilhelmina died. He married Dorathea Rudolph. Dorathea was the sister of George Rudolph ( b. 8/14/1896) who married my Aunt Amelia Hochhalter (b . 12/29/1904). Amelia Hochhalter was Jacob's third born daughter.
