Daryl Zimmerman, 79, Bismarck, died March 7, 2013, at Sanford Health.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Bethel Lutheran Church in Bismarck with Rev. Tim Jenks officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Monday from 7:00 – 9:00 PM at Eastgate Funeral Service in Bismarck and will continue on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Daryl was born on January 4, 1934, in Hazen, ND, the son of Arthur and Thorey (Melsted) Zimmerman. He was raised and attended school in Beulah where he graduated from Beulah High School in 1952. Following high school, he attended BJC and then graduated from University of Minnesota.
Daryl married Helen Lippert on May 11, 1958, in Beulah. Together they owned and ran the family businesses in Beulah until May 10, 1985, when they retired and moved to Bismarck.
Daryl enjoyed woodworking, reading, playing cards, and his Boxer dogs. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, and a past-member of Medcenter One Board of Directors and Mercer County Historical Society.
Daryl is survived by his children and their families, Arthur and Charisse, Aaron (Jennifer), Erik, Rebekah, Trevor, and Thomas Zimmerman of Apple Valley, MN, Jayne and Art Posey, Steven, Christopher, and Jennifer Posey of Hampton, NH, Jacqui and Wayne Ferderer, Benjamin (Krissa) of Bismarck, and Lizabeth Ferderer of Kansas City, KS, and Alan and Michael Zimmerman of Bismarck; and two great-grandchildren, Tyller and Dakota.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; his parents; and his brother, Duane.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Bethel Lutheran Church Building Fund.

Arthur T. Zimmerman, 79, 213 W. Ave. D, died Thursday in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church. Visitation will be at Perry-Eastgate Funeral Home until 9 p.m. Friday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Zimmerman was born at Elizabeth, Minn., Feb. 24, 1903, graduated from high school at Fergus Falls, Minn., and attended Dakota Business College, Fargo.
On June 10, 1926, he married Thorey Melsted of Mountain. He was in the banking business for 35 years, first at Blabon, and then at Zap and at Beulah, where he also was in the movie theater business for 15 years. He lived in Bismarck since 1956.
He served as president of the board of the Zap School District from 1929-38; was secretary-treasurer of the Zap National Farm Loan Association from 1932-35; was a co-director of the Greater North Dakota Association in 1942; master of the Meridian Masonic Lodge of Hazen in 1938; and present of the Beulah Lions Club in 1946.
He is survived by his wife, one son, Daryl, Beulah; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three sisters, Edna Zimmerman, Bismarck, Mrs. Mae Vorachek, Oakes, and Mrs. Irene Willard, Compton, Calif.

Mrs. T. F. Zimmerman died Saturday noon at the Lake Region Hospital, death being due to a stroke and complications incident to her age.
Katherine Sofia Wasmuth was born June 17, 1874 at Roda, Germany. At the age of 16, she came to this country, settling in this vicinity. On Dec 5, 1901 she was married to Thomas F. Zimmerman. They lived on a farm north of Elizabeth until 1910 when they retired and moved to the present home at 617 North Union. They celebrated their Golden wedding in 1951.
Mrs. Zimmerman was a kind and loving wife and mother, who will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She was a faithful member of the Evangelical United Brethren church of this city.
Surviving are two sons, Arthur of Bismarck, ND, and Charles of Fergus Falls, Mrs. Joe Naegeli (Lillian) Stockton, CA; Mrs. Elma Mitchel, Iron River, WI; Mrs. Mae Vorachek, Garrison, ND; Mrs. Jess Willard (Irene) of Compton, CA; and Miss Edna Zimmerman, Casper, WY; two brothers, John Wasmuth and Conrad Wasmuth, both of Fergus Falls and one sister, Mrs. Peter Binzer of Roda, German. There are also 23 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren surviving, besides many other relatives and a host of friends.
Her husband and one son Harry, preceded her in death.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 2 p.m. from the Evangelical United Brethren Church, the Rev. Don Howard officiating. Interment will be at the cemetery north of Elizabeth. Friends may call at the Glende-Johnson Funeral Home.
