Aileen E. Rawlings, 86, of St. Paul died Sunday, July 30, 2017, in St. Paul.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul. Pastor Paul Canady will officiate. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. in the Archer Evangelical Community Cemetery southwest of Archer. Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. is in charge of the arrangements.
Aileen was born Feb. 22, 1931, near Palmer to Albert and Esther (Zlomke) Rudolf.
She lived near Palmer until 1936 when the family moved to a farm southwest of Archer. In 1945, they moved back onto the farm of her grandparents southwest of Palmer. Aileen attended Merrick County rural schools, Districts 44 and 58. She first attended high school in Archer and then graduated from Central City High School in 1948. She taught school in Merrick County for two years.
Aileen was united in marriage to Jack Rawlings on Nov. 20, 1949, at the Archer Zion Evangelical United Brethren Church.
The couple lived southwest of Archer until moving in 1960 to St. Paul, where they continued to live for the remainder of their lives.
Aileen was confirmed in Zion Evangelical Church in Archer and was currently a member of United Methodist Church in St. Paul. She served on the Senior Citizens Board in St. Paul in 1989 and on the Sonderup Foundation Board in 1991.
Survivors include six children and four spouses, Leslie Rawlings of St. Paul, Wendy and Larry Graff of Farwell, Terry and Alma Rawlings, Laura and Allen Horak, all of Grand Island, Gayle Rawlings of Kearney and Michael and Liz Rawlings of St. Paul; 21 grandchildren, with 13 being married, and 26 great-grandchildren, with the last being born on the day Aileen passed away.
She is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Sandy Rudolf of St. Charles, Iowa, and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lavonne Rudolf of St. Paul, Loretta Rudolf of Hastings, Leota Baird of Raleigh, N.C., Delores and Gerald Gleason of Lincoln, John Oren and Janie Rawlings of Apex, N.C., Joyce Rawlings of Spearfish, S.D., Arlene and Wayne Kirk of Little Rock, Ark., and Cecil and Pam Rawlings of Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack, on Jan. 8, 2009; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Cecil and Mildred Rawlings; two daughters-in-law, Connie and Janice Rawlings; two brothers, Ralph and Wayne Rudolf; an infant sister, Shirley Rudolf; and two brothers-in-law, Jack Baird and Wendell Rawlings.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, October 15th for Albert Rudolf, who passed away Wednesday evening in the St. Paul hospital....
Albert Rudolf was born December 29, 1905 to Otto and Bertha Templin Rudolf. He was born in their home near Palmer. With the exception of seven years spent in the Chapman community, he lived his life in the Palmer area.
Several things held his interest, but they all centered around people and especially young people. In his early teens he became a member of the Palmer band. At the same time and for many years to come he was an avid baseball fan. Al began playing baseball in his early teems and played for many years.
On October 22, 1930 at St. Paul, Nebraska, he was married to Esther Zlomke. To this marriage was born 2 daughters and 3 sons.
One of his joys was to drive a school bus for the Palmer Schools. He did this for eight years and was loved by all of his passengers.
He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren church.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Esther, their children, Mrs. Jack Rawlings, Ralph, Wayne and Gary; eleven grandchildren, his sisters and brothers and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Shirley Ann, two sisters and one nephew.

Otto Rudolf, son of Carl and Philamino Rudolf, was born in Zukow, Pammern, Germany on May 9, 1871. He passed away on May 21, 1965 at the age of 94 years and 12 days.
At the age of 19 he came to the United States. He worked for his brother and in Omaha for several years. On July 26, 1896 he was united in marriage to Bertha Templin at Ithica, Nebraska. In 1898 they moved to a farm east of Palmer and lived there until 1943 when they retired into town.
He united with the Archer E.U.B. church in 1899 and was a faithful member of the church, serving for many years as one of its officers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha; two daughters, Martha as a child and Meta Retzlaff; and one grandchild.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Anna Suck of Palmer; 3 sons, Ernest and Albert of Palmer and Harry of Central City; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

The death of Adolph Zlomke, respected resident of the Archer vicinity, which occurred at his family home Wednesday, January 14th, occasioned much sorrow throughout the community, where the deceased had been held in high regard since his removal to Merrick county in the year 1915 from Duff, Nebr. While Mr. Zlomke had been ill for a week, his condition was not considered as alarming until the day preceding his death, and his removal from the family circle came as a distinct shock to his wide circle of friends and relatives.
Adolph August Zlomke was born at Leab Walta, Germany, on April 12th, 1858. He came to America in the year 1871 with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Zlomke, now deceased. The family settled at Grand Island, and in the year 1883 Mr. Zlomke homesteaded in Rock County, near Duff, Nebr. It was there he brought his bride, the former Miss Anna Barbara Faber of Atkinson, their marriage occurring on October 29, 1888, at Atkinson. This remained their home until the year 1915, when the family removed to their present residence near Archer, where the final summons came.
To Mr. and Mrs. Zlomke were born fourteen children, one son, Adolph, dying in infancy. Mr. Zlomke united with the Evangelical church when a young man, and ever remained faithful to its teachings. He was a good neighbor and staunch friend and above all, a kindly husband and father. He leaves as a heritage to his posterity a memory of his many sacrifices in their behalf and a life of accomplishment.
The deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Zlomke, nine daughters and four sons: Edward Zlomke, Chapman; Lena Horner, Duff; Fred Zlomke, Long Pine; Arthur Zlomke, Duff; Christina Dillon, Hot Springs, So. Dakota; Lizzie Wagner, Central City; Anna Landstrom, Chenoa, Ill; George Zlomke, Archer; Sophia Mason, Central City; Edna Rudolf, Palmer; Gladys Zlomke, residing at home; Esther Rudolf, Palmer, and Malina Zlomke; residing at home. He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren, five brothers, Otto Zlomke, Bernard Zlomke, of Grand Island, Fred Zlomke of St. Paul; Gustav Zlomke, of Greeley, and Theodore Zlomke of Hastings, and by three sisters, Mrs. Martha Newman, of Aurora; Mrs. Mary Dickau, of Atkinson, and Mrs. Augusta Reuthar, of the state of California.
Funeral services were conducted fro the Evangelical church near Archer Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with Rev. A.H. Schwab in charge. Pall bearers were Otto Rudolph, Emil Rudolph, Will Rudolph, Carl Rudolph, Jake Ita and Jake Suck, George Zlomke and Ed Zlomke were in charge of flowers. Out of town relatives at the funeral were Otto and Bernard Zlomke of Grand Island.

Phillipine Rudolf, an old time resident of the vicinity of Archer, died at the home of her son, Carl, on December 6, aged 88 years, 6 months and 8 days.
In 1860 she was joined in matrimony with Carl Fredrick Rudolf who preceded her in death, on January 3, 1912.
The family came to this country from Zuchoe, in Pommer, Germany in 1898.
Six sons and three daughters were born to this union, viz: Mrs. Albert Berger, who died in Grand Island in 1915, Mrs. Henry Boehl of Archer, Mrs. Herman Fechtner of Palmer, William, Carl, Otto and Emil, all of the vicinity of Archer. Frank, who died here six years ago, and Paul, who moved from here some time ago.
She leaves 34 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Burial was made Sunday in the Evangelical Cemetery west of Archer. The services were conducted by Rev. A. H. Schwab of the Evangelical Church.
