    Ronald W. Beck, passed away, October 12, 2009, at his home in Grand Island, Nebraska. Ron born June 23, 1934, at Wallace, Nebraska to Harvey and Edna (Boehn) Beck.
    As a young boy, he lived in a sod home on the open range. The family moved to Arapahoe and lived there two to three years. He started school in Hayes County, Nebraska, K-7th grade, he then moved to Shelton, Nebraska and went thru 11th grade at Wood River, Nebraska. As a young man he then moved to Hall County, Nebraska and worked for Yates Apple Farm and helped his dad. At age 18, he went to work for Union Pacific Railroad for five years. At age 23, he was drafted into the Army, April of 1957. He was stationed in Berlin, Germany and in April 1959, he received his honorable discharged.
    He was united in marriage to Betty L. Freeland on June 27, 1964, at United Methodist Church in Grand Island, Nebraska. The couple lived in Grand Island, Nebraska where he continued to work for the railroad until 1966. He then went to work for the Cornhusker Army Ammunition plant until 1969. He later worked at Chief Industries in Grand Island until 1999, when he retired. During retirement, he worked part time for Skagway Pharmacy of Grand Island, Nebraska and Marv's Fireworks in Hastings, Nebraska until 2007 due to ill health.
    He enjoyed hunting, fishing and just visiting with people.
    Survivors include his wife, Betty L. Beck of Grand Island, Nebraska; daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanie and Donald Hancock of St. Paul, Nebraska and Ronda and Paul Barker of Grand Island, Nebraska; stepfather, Ray Miller of Grand Island, Nebraska; sister, Doris Elliott of Florida; and a brother, Lyle Beck of Grand Island, Nebraska and a host of relatives and friends.
    He was welcomed into The Heavenly Home by his parents, Harvey Beck and Edna Miller, brother, Ervin Beck and nephew, Randy Beck.

    Ronald heiratete Freeland, Betty Lou am 27 Jun 1964 in Grand Island, Hall County, Nebraska, USA. Betty (Tochter von Freeland, Louie William und Verplank, Gladys Faye) wurde geboren am 8 Mai 1930 in Fullerton, Nance County, Nebraska, USA; gestorben in 1971 in ,,, USA; wurde beigesetzt in Union Ridge Cemetery, Chicago, Cooke County, Illinois, USA.
